Overlooking an eye stunning, lavish green countryside and our shallow turquoise ocean coast, from the top of a mountain shoulder in Lombo de São João, Ponta do Sol, Villa Alto Boutique Hotel is a traditional Madeiran manor house from the late 19th century, with a multi-hectare vegetable garden and a fruit farm, which belonged to a prosperous family.
Restored and preserved to its original architectural flair, the accommodation features a decor reminiscent of traditional Madeiran farm homes. Today, there are thirteen individual rooms, spread across four unique levels preserving its original style of a classic romantic atmosphere, from the harvest years, now including all modern amenities (Wi-Fi, TV, swimming pool, and billiard tables). As part of our concept, note that wi-fi access was purposely withdrawn from our rooms in order to give you a chance of disconnecting yourself from the information overload that goes through our gadgets. Even so, Internet access is available in our social and common rooms.
Regional and home-grown flavors are on display, for the sole delight of your taste buds, at the guest-exclusive breakfast rooms. Also, homemade cakes are at your disposal, to suppress those sugar cravings that we all have but choose to keep a secret. The Honesty Bar has a large selection of beverages and snacks.
You are welcome to swim and relax in our outdoor pool, following those tiring levada walks that you came here for. Follow them up with a drink in our comfortable lounge, a cold beer in the courtyard, or a glass of wine in the peace of your own room.
You have full access to the entire manor living spaces and eco-gardens and to our private parking area, secured by the gate that is closed each evening.
The manor has a living and a dining room. We promise your stay will be completely unique, perfect to disconnect from the hectic day-to-day life and (re)connect with Nature. Renting a car is recommended if you plan on staying with us, but you can also take the bus daily, in case you prefer. Madeira Island has levada hikes all over and this property happens to have them just outside the gate.
